WW - Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Submariner, "red letter Submariner," ref 1680, circa 1972, 42mm x 47mm to lug tips, 20mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back Oyster case with bi-directional bezel, faded MK2 fat font insert, stainless steel folded link bracelet with deployment clasp and fold over safety, original black MKIV red Submariner dial with lume plot indices and date aperture at 3, 26J cal 1570, s#3302923, triple signed with signed clasp, bracelet ref 93150 with 580 end pieces, inside back ref 1680 with IV72 date code.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, hardly any oxide to steelwork, light wear to brass on plates leading edge and near detent screw as well as light spotting to rotor edge; excellent-plus dial with light fine scratches at bottom right of 6 as well as on the top left corner of the triangle at 12; excellent service hands a slightly different lume color than the dial, light surface spotting; polished case shows light wear, original lug chamfers have been completely rounded over, several light dings on the backs of the lugs and side of the case; bracelet shows little wear, very light stretch; Rolex Triplock service crown shows very little wear, good threads; good crystal; resealed for auction.
